Alpesh Amin brings to MorrisAnderson over nine years of experience in the areas of corporate finance, restructuring and banking in the financial services, private equity, real estate, automotive, distribution and food and beverage industries.

Mr. Amin has served in the advisory capacity for both company management and for creditors. His background includes Chapter 11 bankruptcy process management, business plan development and analysis, debt restructurings, asset sales and liquidations, cash flow management and forecasting and due diligence assignments.

Representative examples of Mr. Amin’s engagement experience include:

  • Worked on the financial advisory team for the Chapter 7 trustee for Refco, LLC, a commodity futures broker. Mr. Amin helped complete all Monthly Operating Reports required by the United States Trustee and assisted the Trustee in reconciling approximately $4.7 billion in claims against the estate, realizing value for assets and collecting proceeds for receivables and disposing of remaining assets.
  • Worked on the crisis management team for Wickes, Inc., a national distributor of building products to assist the company in its restructuring. Mr. Amin helped develop a business plan to enable the company to finance its operations and support an exit mandated by its lenders. Additionally, Mr. Amin assisted the company in raising financing to support its business plan and in marketing substantially all of the company’s assets, generating a full recovery for secured lenders.
  • Worked on the financial advisory to the Chapter 11 trustee of Epic Resorts, a time share developer, implementing a number of performance improvements aimed at increasing the value of consumer note portfolios, the Company’s main source of operating cash and stabilizing operations to a point where the primary business became cash positive. The Company was able to secure DIP and other financing of approximately $8 million to support the operations through restructuring which ultimately led to the sale of all of the Company's assets.

Prior to joining MorrisAnderson, Mr. Amin held consulting positions with Huron Consulting Group’s Corporate Advisory Services office in Chicago, focusing on restructuring and turnaround engagements and Bridge Associates, LLC in New York, specializing in turnaround, interim and wind down management services. Previously, Mr. Amin held positions with Merrill Lynch’s Investment Banking group in Chicago, providing mergers and acquisitions advisory in a variety of industries and with LaSalle Bank’s Leveraged Finance and Syndications groups in Chicago.

Mr. Amin holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance and Management Information Systems) from Miami University. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
