HOWARD R. KORENTHAL has nearly 30 years’ experience working with financially distressed and underperforming companies, serving in senior management, interim management and consulting roles. His extensive turnaround expertise encompasses a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, food processing and metal production.
During his career, Mr. Korenthal has been instrumental in more than 100 turnaround and restructuring projects, working in the areas of improvement, cash flow and viability analyses, as well as negotiations with senior creditors, unsecured creditors, liquidations, assignments for creditors’ benefit and complex Chapter 11 proceedings.
Before joining MorrisAnderson, Mr. Korenthal was a Managing Partner at Lake Pointe Partners. He previously was President and CEO of Connor Sports Flooring Corporation, a portfolio company of the private equity firm of Code Hennessey and Simmons, LLC., where he initiated cost-savings and profit improvement measures and led the company’s efforts to receive ISO 9001:2000 certification. Connor Sports Flooring was the leading manufacturer of maple and synthetic sports floors in the United States until the company’s very successful sale in 2005.
Mr. Korenthal also was a senior partner in the nationally recognized turnaround and consulting firm of Silverman Korenthal & Co., based in Chicago. He began his career with the Big Eight accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand in Chicago where, as an audit manager, he gained his initial experience working with distressed and underperforming companies while working with clients facing financial difficulties.
Mr. Korenthal, a CPA, has a BS in Accountancy degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois Institute of Certified Public Accountants. |
